Le stade Maître Babacar SEYE est dans un état de délabrement avancé, ce qui a causé sa fermeture depuis des années. Le stade Aboubakaye Diagne est impraticable depuis des années. Le stadium Joseph Gaye n'est pas en reste. À cela, il faut ajouter l'existence de piste d'athlétisme convenable, de boulodrome, de vélodrome.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Cette situation oblige l'équipe première de Saint-Louis, la Linguère, à recevoir hors de la ville. La petite histoire de l'actuel stade Maître Babacar SEYE Ex stade Wiltord mérite qu'un autre sort lui soit réservé. En effet, ce stade, un des premiers de l'AOF a été construit entre 1931 et 1939. Il a aussi été le premier stade du Sénégal à être gazonné, c'était en 1945.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Une promesse de réhabilitation réconfortante avait été faite, une maquette fut présentée aux sportifs Saint-louisiens, un budget de 11 850 022 062 F voté et l'information se trouve dans un communiqué de l'AGEFIP publié dans le Soleil du 17 mai 2017, information confirmée, quelques mois plus tard par le Ministre des Sports de l'époque, Monsieur Matar BA qui avait même allé jusqu'à donner la date de démarrage des travaux pour mars 2020.<\/p>\r\n\r\n À ce propos, le directeur de l'AGEFIP avait dit qu'on pourrait construire un stade de 12 000 places.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Madame le Ministre, mes questions sont les suivantes :<\/p>\r\n\r\n À quand la réhabilitation du stade Maître Babacar SEYE ?<\/p>\r\n\r\n À quand la construction d'un stade omnisports à Saint-Louis?<\/p>\r\n\r\n Recevez, Madame le Ministre, mes chaleureuses et respectueuses salutations.<\/p>\r\n\r\n Honorable Seynabou Yacine SAMBE<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n La Ministre des Sports Khady Diène GAYE a répondu le 02 janvier 2025 et a indiqué dans sa réponse que les projets de réhabilitation du stade Maître Babacar Seye et de construction du Palais des Sports Joseph Gaye restent inscrits dans la feuille de route nationale, malgré une réorientation des priorités vers des infrastructures de proximité.
